CrowdStrike shares surged as much as 21% in after-hours trading Tuesday, after the cybersecurity company reported a beat on the top and bottom lines, and issued stronger than expected guidance for the upcoming quarter and full year. CrowdStrike has now reported GAAP net income for the last four quarters, CFO Burt Podbere said in the earnings release. "CrowdStrike is cybersecurity's consolidator of choice, innovator of choice, and platform of choice to stop breaches," co-founder and CEO George Kurtz said in a release. The company also guided to fiscal first-quarter revenues between $902 million and $906 million, better than a consensus estimate of $899 million. CrowdStrike also expects EPS for the period between 89 to 90 cents, better than the 82 cent consensus estimate.

For every dollar companies paid CrowdStrike to respond to hacks, CrowdStrike collected roughly $6 on average in new subscription revenue, Kurtz said. "It's not something we can answer" for companies, Kurtz said. While incident response is good business for CrowdStrike, Kurtz emphasized that CrowdStrike's main focus is "to help customers prevent these sorts of attacks upfront and provide visibility."

Shares of the company sank 37% before the bell on Friday and were set to open at their lowest level in about six months. The stock could erase most of the 42% rise it has posted so far this year, if losses hold through regular trading. The median price target on the stock is now $18, which is 13% lower than its last closing price. Factors other than a weak economy seem to be impacting SentinelOne, said BTIG analysts, downgrading the stock to "neutral". May 31 (Reuters) - CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (CRWD.O) raised its annual forecast for revenue and profit on Wednesday, as spending on cybersecurity products stays strong in a turbulent economy. The company expects 2024 revenue in the range of $3 billion and $3.04 billion, compared with its previous forecast of $2.96 billion and $3.01 billion. Excluding items, the company expects 2024 net income per share of $2.32 and $2.43, compared with $2.21 and $2.39 projected earlier. Analysts on average expect 2024 revenue of $3 billion, according to Refinitiv data. March 7 (Reuters) - CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (CRWD.O) forecast fiscal year 2024 revenue above market estimates on Tuesday, the latest sign that spending on cybersecurity products was holding up in a turbulent economy. Rival Palo Alto Networks Inc (PANW.O) raised its annual profit forecast last month and beat estimates for quarterly earnings, saying it expects cybersecurity demand to be resilient. For the fourth quarter ended Jan. 31, CrowdStrike's revenue rose 48% to $637.4 million compared with a year earlier. CrowdStrike's net loss for the fourth quarter widened to $47.5 million from $42 million a year earlier. The company said it expects fiscal year 2024 revenue between $2.96 billion and $3.02 billion, compared with analysts' estimates of $2.96 billion, according to Refinitiv data.

Nov 29 (Reuters) - CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (CRWD.O) on Tuesday forecast fourth-quarter revenue below Wall Street estimates, as an economic downturn hit spending for its cyber security services. The company expects revenue between $619.1 million and $628.2 million, compared with analysts' average estimate of $632.8 million, according to Refinitiv IBES data. CrowdStrike also said increased macroeconomic headwinds elongated sales cycles with smaller customers, and caused some larger ones to pursue multi-phase subscription start dates, which delays annual recurring revenue (ARR) recognition until future quarters. Total revenue for the third quarter was $580.8 million. On an adjusted basis, the company earned 40 cents for the quarter ended Oct. 31, compared to estimates of 31 cents.
Cloud-security business Lacework Inc. on Thursday named a finance chief with public-company experience as the startup lays the groundwork for an eventual initial public offering. He has also held senior finance roles at technology companies ServiceNow Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. At Lacework, Mr. Casey succeeds Mike Staiger, who stepped down in June. Lacework has ample cash from last year’s fundraising round and likely won’t need more capital for at least a couple of years, Mr. Casey said. Additionally, Mr. Casey is helping Lacework adjust its pricing model, for instance by offering customers a wider range of functionalities and price points.
